Cabinet’s decision on providing Red Sea Ports Corporation’s needs discussed

The Board of Directors of the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, in its meeting Thursday, chaired by the Minister of Transport, Abdulwahhab Al-Durra, discussed the mechanism for implementing the Cabinet’s decision regarding the corporation’s emergency needs matrix.

The directives included in Cabinet’s decision No. 26 of 1444 AH approving the corporation’s emergency needs matrix (Hodeida and Saleef ports) were reviewed in the meeting.

The meeting focused on the implementation of the decision through coordination between the Corporation, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the Minister of Finance, and the leadership of the Ministry of Transport regarding providing the required funding.

At the meeting, the Minister of Transport noted the Cabinet’s keenness and approval of the matrix of emergency needs to enhance navigational and commercial activity and improve port services.
Al-Durra praised the leadership and cadres of the corporation and the level of efforts made to improve performance and implement the duties and tasks assigned to them.

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation, Captain Muhammad Abu Bakr Ishaq, reviewed the corporation’s plan and vision to keep up with the provision of emergency needs.

Following the meeting, Al-Durrah and Ishaq also toured the port basin to inspect the linkage and guidance facilities along the navigational channel leading to the docks of the port of Hodeida.
