Cancellation of the sick flight from Sana’a International Airport

The sick flight that was scheduled to take off from Sanaa International Airport was canceled for unknown reasons.

Sanaa International Airport Director Khaled Al-Shayef confirmed that Sanaa airport is ready to receive flights 24 hours at any time.

He was surprised at the cancellation of the sick flight, which was supposed to leave the airport today, and it had 23 patients and 25 escorts … indicating that the patients arrived at the airport in the early morning, and all travel measures were taken and facilities provided for them.

Al-Shayef pointed out that the patients waited for the departure hall for more than eight hours, which raised a state of discontent among the patients and their companions, especially when they were notified of canceling the flight.

In turn, the representative of the World Health Organization, Bahjat Khoury, confirmed the technical and professional readiness of Sanaa International Airport to receive flights.

He noted the facilities for the travel procedures of patients by the administration of Sana’a Airport, according to the international requirements and applicable in all airports … indicating that the flight was supposed to arrive from Addis Ababa to Sanaa and then to Amman, but it was postponed.

“We are working to save the sick and provide all facilities for their travel abroad to receive the necessary treatment,” Khoury said.
