Discussing the work program between the Traffic Department and the Land Transport Authority
A meeting in Sana’a, which included the Chairman of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs Walid Al-Wadaii, and the Director General of Traffic Police, Brigadier Dr. Bakil Al-Barashi, discussed the joint work program for traffic safety.
The meeting, in the presence of the Director of Traffic of the Secretariat, Colonel Ahmed Al-Qahoum, and the Director of the Transport Authority Branch in the Secretariat, Muhammad Al-Shahari, reviewed the work programs that were approved in previous meetings, the strengths, weaknesses and abuses observed, and ways to address them.
The meeting stressed the necessity of facilitating the procedures for services provided to citizens, completing the normalization of taxi buses, determining the routes, rehabilitating the sorting of buses in the sectors, and providing transportation means on the lines where buses do not pass.
The status of sorting delegates was also discussed and their performance evaluated in the field, stressing the importance of developing treatments and raising proposals that contribute to improving performance, and suggesting treatments for owners of buses reserved in the demarcation and numbering centers.
The attendees listened to an explanation of the progress of work in the networking between the two sides, which is currently being worked on.
The head of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority praised the efforts of the Traffic Police Command in improving and developing traffic work and the successes achieved in the field.
In turn, the Director General of the Traffic Police valued the cooperation and response of the leadership of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs, in enhancing traffic safety on the roads.
He referred to the work that was implemented between the two sides out of keenness to integrate efforts and roles between them, stressing the importance of networking between traffic and the Transport Authority by making use of modern technology to facilitate services provided to citizens.
The meeting came out with recommendations, the most important of which is the formation of a joint committee to assess the level of work implementation during the previous stage and to propose a mechanism of action to develop partnership and coordination among the relevant authorities within the framework of the directions of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council
