Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs, Dr. Hussein Maqboli, along with the Ministers of Transport, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra and Public Works, Ghaleb Mutlaq, were briefed today on the extent of the damage and destruction in the new Sana’a International Airport project as a result of its targeting by the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition of aggression.

They inspected the extent of the damages in the main building of the airport and its service annexes, which are designed according to international specifications and requirements applicable at international airports.
Maqboli, Al-Durra and Mutlaq from the technical team of the project of the Civil Aviation Authority and Meteorology listened to an explanation of the extent of the damage and losses in the new airport project and the problems arising from the developments related to the random construction.

During the visit, which was accompanied by the Chariman of the Civil Aviation Authority and Meteorology, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Qadir, the deputy of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector Abdullah Al-Ansi, the deputy of the Civil Aviation Authority Raed Jabal, the Authority’s Assistant deputy for the Airports Sector Yahya Al-Kahlani, and the Director of the Airports Sector Amin Jamaan, Dr. Maqboli confirmed that the airport project Al-Jadeed was subjected to one hundred air strikes directly by the coalition of aggression, which is considered a war crime because the airport is a civilian and service facility.

“We have seen the effects of the systematic destruction of the building of the new Sanaa airport project, which represents Yemen’s first gateway to the world,” he said.

Maqboli held the countries of the coalition of aggression responsible for the bombing of this civilian service building.. He called on the United Nations to quickly complete the construction of the new Sanaa airport project to operate it to provide its humanitarian services to Yemenis.

In turn, Minister of Transport considered the new airport building project as one of the strategic national projects.
He explained that it was hoped that this project would be opened as a front for the homeland and the historical capital Sanaa as an international airport in terms of development, modernization and the requirements and conditions in force globally, and approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization “ICAO”.

Minister Al-Durra stressed that the new airport faces many problems as a result of being deliberately and directly bombed by the air forces of the countries of the aggression.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Works and Roads confirmed that the project, with its modern designs and large capacity, was a target of the coalition of aggression with the aim of destroying it and depriving the Yemeni people of its services.

He pointed out that the countless crimes of aggression against the Yemeni people revealed the extent of the hatred he has for Yemen and its people.

In addition, Minister of Transport, along with the Chariman of the Civil Aviation Authority, deputy for the Air Transport Sector, and the Authority’s deputy inspected the lands and campuses of the new Sana’a International Airport project, and the sites designated for the airport facilities.
