Meteorology predicts rain in the mountainous heights

The National Meteorological Center expected clear to partly cloudy weather that will turn to cloudy during the noon and evening periods during the next 24 hours.

The center indicated in its weather bulletin that the awake weather is accompanied by scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity on parts of the mountainous heights of the governorates (west of Saada, Hajjah, west of Sana’a and Amran, Al Mahwit, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb and Taiz) and parts of the interior plateaus of the governorates (Al Dhale’, Lahj). Abyan, Shabwa, Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra).

The National Meteorological Center alerted citizens in areas where rain is expected from being in torrents and valleys.

He pointed out that the coastal areas will witness clear to partly cloudy and hot weather with a maximum temperature of 34 to 38 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of scattered rain on parts of the western and eastern coasts and the adjacent interior areas.

The center pointed out that the wind movement in the coastal areas of moderate speed is active on the eastern and southern coasts, causing dust and sand.

The National Center expected that the weather in the desert areas will be clear to partly cloudy, hot to very hot during the day, and the maximum temperature will be between 39 to 44 degrees Celsius.

He explained that the winds in the desert areas are moderate in speed, sometimes active during the day, causing dust and sand on the northern parts of the desert areas.

In the Socotra archipelago, the center expected that the weather would be clear to partly cloudy, and the winds would be south to southwesterly, with a maximum speed of 33 knots, disturbing the sea and the height of the waves.

The National Center warned fishermen, sea-goers and ship captains in the Socotra archipelago of sea turbulence and high waves.
