Minister of Human Rights reviews the status of Hodeidah Airport and the city of Manzhar in Hodeidah

Minister of Human Rights Ali Al-Dailami was briefed on the status of Hodeidah International Airport, which has been out of service for eight years due to the bombing of the aggression.

During the visit, Al-Dailami, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Ali Tayseer, the Director of the Human Rights Office in the governorate, Zain Ezzi, and a number of specialists in collecting human rights data, listened to the Airport Director, Ahmed Tarish, for a detailed explanation about the extent of the damage left by the aggression’s bombing of the airport’s infrastructure.

The minister and his entourage also listened to an explanation from the Deputy Director of the Airport for Technical Affairs, Eng. Mohieddin Al-Dimashqi, and the Director General of Legal Affairs at the General Authority for Aviation, about the plans to rehabilitate the airport and what it represents of the importance of being the first cargo airport in the Republic to travel to several international destinations for trade and treatment.

Minister Al-Dailami, Undersecretary Tayseer, and the Director of the Human Rights Office also visited the city of Manzhar in the Al-Hawk district of the Al-Hodeidah city square, to see the humanitarian situation in the city, the extent of the return of the displaced, and the efforts to address the systematic targeting and destruction of homes and services.

He explained that the visits aim to monitor some data related to the human rights aspect and to examine the extent of improvement in the humanitarian conditions related to the service situation, in a way that contributes to diagnosing and evaluating these conditions and updating the database of the Ministry of Human Rights
