Minister of Transport confirms the opening of new destinations for flights during the coming period through Sana’a Airport

Minister of Transport, Abdulwahab Yahya Al-Durra, confirmed the opening of new destinations for flights through Sana’a International Airport during the coming period, in accordance with the provisions of the humanitarian truce.

 

Minister Al-Durra said, in a meeting held at Sana’a International Airport , that included the President of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Qadir, the Authority’s deputy, Raed Jabal, and the Director of the Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, that the expansion of new destinations for flights through Sana’a Airport, according to the provisions of the humanitarian truce, is required. The United Nations, the sponsor of the truce, must implement it on the ground to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis traveling in general and the sick in particular.

He pointed out that the new destinations for flights include several countries besides Jordan and Cairo, indicating that any extension of another truce for a longer period depends on the level of what has been implemented on the ground, especially opening and expanding destinations and trips to other countries, and providing multiple travel trips for patients, students, expatriates, and men. Business.

He also confirmed the operational readiness of Sana’a Airport to receive new flights and destinations, technically and professionally, to ensure the safety and security of civil aviation in accordance with international requirements and the International Civil Aviation Organization “ICAO”. For the coalition on the airports of Sana’a, Taiz and Hodeida.

Minister Al-Durra said, “We are optimistic about the departure of the military delegation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to hold early negotiations and discussions, to expand and extend the armistice, to include new provisions, as well as expand new flights to other new countries, and open the main roads to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.”

The meeting, in the presence of the assistant undersecretaries of the Civil Aviation Authority, meteorology, security agencies delegated at the airport, and technical specialists in the fields of air navigation, discussed issues related to the technical, professional and technical readiness of Sana’a International Airport to receive new destinations and flights, which will be covered by the humanitarian truce in the future.

Minister of Transport heard from the Chairman and deputy  of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority a detailed explanation of what has been achieved during the last period, and the level of implementation on the ground, according to the observations made in the previous meeting.

In addition, the Minister of Transport, along with the President and deputy  of the Civil Aviation Authority and the Director of Sana’a International Airport, were briefed on the airport facilities and their technical, professional and technical readiness.

They were acquainted with the customs devices in the various terminals of the airport, the Yemeni Airlines catering building at the airport, and the level of services it provides to travelers.

They also inspected the work of the airport customs building and the new expansion of the building, and the departments it contains related to customs work, whether with regard to passengers, goods or air freight.

Minister Al-Durra was briefed on the progress of work in the incoming hangar for shipments of goods, medicines and various aids at Sana’a Airport
