Minister of Transport inspects the progress of development and construction works at Sana’a International Airport

Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahab Yahya Al-Durra, inspected the level of implementation of the development and construction works at Sana’a International Airport.

 

Minister Al-Durra, accompanied by the President of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Qadir, and the President of the Roads and Bridges Corporation, Abdul Rahman Al-Hadhrami, reviewed the technical and security equipment for the safety and security of travelers, air navigation, and the electrical installations at the airport in accordance with the international requirements and requirements in force at international airports and the International Civil Aviation Organization “ICAO”.

 

And they listened from the Director of Sana’a International Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, to clarify the procedures, facilities and services provided to travelers through Jordan’s only destination, as well as to United Nations staff and its affiliated organizations that arrive and leave Sana’a International Airport.

 

The Minister of Transport and his entourage also inspected the progress of work in the rehabilitation of the protocol hall and the arrival, departure and transit halls at the airport, which were destroyed by the aircraft of the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition, and they listened from the specialized engineers to an explanation about the project to rehabilitate the airport facilities with the required specifications and standards, and the commitment to deliver them on time.

 

The Minister of Transport stressed the need to adhere to the timetable set for the completion of work according to the agreed specifications and standards, stressing the interest of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council in the republic’s airports in general and Sana’a International Airport in particular.

 

In addition, a meeting held at Sana’a International Airport, chaired by the Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahhab Al-Durrah, discussed the mechanism for developing work between the Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority and the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges in implementing projects at Sana’a, Taiz and Hodeidah International Airports.

 

The meeting, which was attended by the President of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Qadir, the President of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges, Abdul Rahman Al-Hadhrami, the authority’s agent, Raed Jabal, and the director of Sana’a International Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, discussed the restoration and rehabilitation works in the important facilities at the airports of Sana’a, Taiz and Hodeidah International.

 

The Minister of Transport stressed the importance of completing and implementing projects in the airports of Sana’a, Taiz and Hodeidah in accordance with international specifications and standards in force at international airports.

 

He pointed out that the rehabilitation of Taiz and Al-Hodeidah airports is one of the important strategic projects for which plans have been prepared by the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority.

 

While the head of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority indicated that the development plans and studies for Taiz and Al-Hodeidah airports are ready with the authority, they were prepared in accordance with international requirements and standards and the International Civil Aviation Organization “ICAO”.

 

For his part, the President of the Roads and Bridges Corporation affirmed the Corporation’s readiness to implement works and harness its capabilities in implementing projects at Sana’a, Taiz and Hodeidah airports, in accordance with international specifications.
