Press conference at Hodeida port docks, coinciding with arrival of several ships

 

A press conference was held at the docks of the port of Hodeidah, in conjunction with the arrival of several ships carrying foodstuffs, construction and oil derivatives, including a container ship, containing 724 containers of goods.

 

At the press conference, the Minister of Transport, Abdul-Wahab Yahya Al-Durra, confirmed that the incoming ships began heading directly from the port of Djibouti to the port of Hodeidah, after inspection directly, without any delay.

 

He explained that among the ships, 18 ships are heading from the shipping ports to the port of Hodeidah, Saleef and Ras Issa, stressing that the ports of Hodeidah, Saleef and Ras Issa receive all types of ships loaded with foodstuffs, oil derivatives and containers.

 

He pointed out that the berths are full of ships whose cargo is unloaded, and many of them are waiting in the submersible to enter the unloading space, pointing to the keenness of the Hodeidah Ports Corporation to provide facilities for navigational activity, to receive ships, and to quickly complete the necessary procedures.

 

The Minister of Transport praised the role of the work crews in the port of Hodeida, which are making effective efforts to enable ships to dock and unload in a short time.

 

He also stressed that the entry of ships continues daily, including ships that arrive for the first time loaded with oils and others, to ensure that the needs of 70 percent of the people of Yemen are covered through the port of Hodeida, given that they obtain needs from the nearest ports and airports as one of their rights.

 

While the head of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Captain Muhammad Ishaq, explained in the press conference, which was attended by representatives of local and foreign media, the keenness to activate the work of the port administration and mobilize the work crews in preparing to receive and unload ships.

 

And he considered the reopening of the port of Hodeidah a legitimate right for the Yemeni people, who had waited for this step for years, despite the illegality and legality of the blockade on the ports of the Red Sea, indicating that the port of Hodeidah began to receive ships for the first time since the blockade, whose entry was prohibited.
