Seminar on office contingency plan

 

The authority, represented by the airport sector, organized a discussion seminar for the parties concerned with implementing the airport emergency plan to discuss it and its purpose and to identify the tasks and responsibilities of the parties covered by the plan in the event of any emergency.

In the symposium, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Rahman Abdel-Qader stressed the importance of the symposium to discuss the emergency plan related to civil aviation and meteorology and to put forward the necessary opinions and proposals from the participating parties in order to deepen cooperation between those parties and work in the spirit of one team.

He said: To secure the safety of lives and rescue equipment, comprehensive and complete contingency plans must be developed and updated for airports to avoid disasters and events resulting from terrorist acts, illegal interference, unintended human errors by the pilot or engineer, or an accidental and sudden technical defect of the plane, which requires cooperation and solidarity of everyone in such These cases.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors pointed out the importance of each party knowing its tasks and responsibilities towards emergency situations … and that work in this aspect must be of a great degree of accuracy and according to the tasks and terms of reference of each party participating in the plan to ensure a quick and coordinated response.

In his turn, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Airports Sector, Yahya Al-Kahlani, pointed out that the symposium aims to identify the tasks and responsibilities of each party involved in implementing the emergency plan and keep abreast of developments and changes related to that.

Al-Kahlani pointed out that the field implementation of the emergency plan is supposed to be implemented, but the current circumstances that the country is going through in terms of war and aggression have prevented it from being implemented in the field, and therefore it must be modernized in the office and work to ensure that it meets the international requirements and requirements issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Leading the authority in overcoming any difficulties encountered in the procedures for updating and implementing the emergency plan.

For his part, the Director General of Fire and Rescue at the Airports Sector, Saleh Al-Ahjri, affirmed that the emergency plan for airports, updating and implementing them is among the international requirements that are universally applicable in all airports in the world, pointing out that the implementation of this plan comes within the framework of the commitment of the Republic of Yemen as a member of ICAO All international requirements for aviation and airport safety.

The symposium discussed the responsibilities of the entities participating in the emergency plan in terms of aviation accidents and the procedures for implementing responsibilities and duties.

The symposium was attended by the Director General of the Airports Sector, Amin Jamaan, the Director General of Air Transport at the Authority, Dr. Mazen Ghanem, the Dean of the Institute of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Dr. Naji Al-Sahmi, the Undersecretary of the Civil Defense Department, Brigadier Abdul Karim Mayad, and a number of officials and specialists in the Ministries of Interior, Health, Sanaa International Airport, the Aviation Safety Sector, the Meteorology Sector, and Yemeni Airlines .
