Signing of two cooperation agreements between the Land Transport Authority ,the Post and the Remote Sensing Center

 

The Public Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs signed today in Sana’a two cooperation agreements with the General Authority for Post and Postal Savings and the Remote Sensing Center, in the presence of Minister of Transport Zakaria Al-Shami and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Mesfer Al-Numair.

The two agreements were signed by the President of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs, Walid Al-Wadaei, and the Director General of the Postal Authority, Eng. Muhammad Ali Marghem, and the Head of the Remote Sensing Center, Dr. Khaled Khanbari.

While the second agreement included preparing a digital map for the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, preparing the land navigation room and qualifying the authority’s staff to implement the digital maps for road transport, the first phase in the Capital’s secretariat, which comes within the authority’s plan for the national vision to build the modern Yemeni state in its second phase for the year 2021-2025 AD.

The Minister of Transport indicated that the authority seeks, through the two agreements, to enhance revenue collection efforts, develop its work in the field, and benefit from modern technology by using the digital map as a first stage in the capital, in a manner that would improve the work of land transport throughout the governorates of the Republic.

He pointed out that the signature comes within the framework of the general plan of the ministry and its affiliated bodies and institutions included in the national vision to enhance capabilities, training, rehabilitation, automation, and achieve the principle of transparency and integrity.

Minister Al-Shami affirmed keenness to facilitate the collection process through the automated system at post offices, in order to serve the citizens and save time and effort for them.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Transport and its bodies and institutions focus in its plan this year on training and qualifying its cadres technically and professionally, including automation and linking it to the network in a way that contributes to combating corruption and enhancing integrity and transparency in all activities of the various transport sectors.

In turn, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology indicated that the two agreements will enhance government work through post offices, protect citizens benefiting from extortion, and enhance the principle of transparency through a modern electronic system with the post.

Eng. Al-Numair pointed out that the two agreements included the collection of various land transport services through the General Post Authority centers in the various governorates of the Republic, with the aim of improving work and reducing the burdens on citizens and drivers of various types of transport.

He explained that the remote sensing center provides modern electronic services through the unified digital map, such as remote tracking and spatial information, which will contribute to the development of land transport, enhance its capabilities in the field and professionally, and provide excellent services for all means of land transport.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology considered the signing of the first act of integration between the two ministries in accordance with the national vision.

After the signing, the Minister of Transport and the Minister of Communications, together with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Adel Al-Madani and the President of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs, were briefed on the progress of work at the Land, Air and Maritime Information Technology Center at the Ministry of Transport and the services, information and electronic data it provides in the various transport sectors, including: It services weather, climate changes and terrain.

The specialists listened to an explanation of the center’s services and the information it provides that contribute to the development of the transport work in its various fields.

The Minister of Communications expressed his admiration for the services and information provided by the center in the field of land, sea and air transport … indicating the ministry’s willingness to provide what the center requires according to the available capabilities
