The Assistant Undersecretary for Meteorological Affairs honors a number of employees

Eng. Mohamed Saeed Hameed, Assistant Undersecretary for Meteorological Affairs, affirmed keenness on training, qualifying, raising capacities, and keeping abreast of developments in the field of meteorology, according to the requirements of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

While honoring a number of meteorological trainees today, the Assistant Undersecretary pointed out the importance of specialized training to develop staff and raise their competencies to keep pace with the rapid developments in weather and climate sciences.

Hamid added, “We are facing a major challenge in providing information to beneficiaries with high accuracy and reliability in order to preserve lives and public and private property, and to play a leading role in this vital field in accordance with the Meteorological Law.”

During the honoring, which was attended by a number of general directors, the Director General of the Institute of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Dr. Naji Al-Sahmi, delivered a speech in which he urged the participants to apply what they had received and benefit as much as possible from the local courses, which are no less important than the external courses, noting the Institute’s readiness to provide all facilities for the success of the internal courses and to achieve Her goals.
