The Minister of Transport confirms the continued coordination with the UN mission to support the Hodeidah agreement

Minister of Transport Zakaria Al-Shami affirmed the Supreme Political Council’s and the Salvation Government’s keenness to continue coordination with the international mission of international observers to support the Hodeidah agreement unilaterally for the success of the Stockholm Agreement.

Minister Al-Shami, during his meeting today with the Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission in Support of the Al-Hudaydah Agreement, Daniella Crosslake, referred to the facilities provided by the Ministry of Transport and the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation to the mission, enabling it to carry out its tasks and work entrusted to it.

He pointed out the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Transport and the UN mission to support the Hodeidah agreement, in order to enhance security and stability in Hodeidah governorate … calling the UN mission to pressure the other party to implement its obligations in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement.

In turn, the Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission in Support of the Hudaydah Agreement commended the cooperation of the Supreme Political Council, the Salvation Government, and the Ministry of Transport for the success of the mission in Hudaydah.

She pointed to the positive and fruitful steps achieved in the past two months on the ground … expressing her thanks to the Ministry of Transport and its interest in providing the needs of the mission and providing it with expertise and technical consultations that contribute to facilitating the mission’s work and tasks.

The meeting discussed the technical aspects of the mission’s work and the possibility of establishing a landing plane for the UNMIS helicopter to support the Hodeidah agreement and the coordination mechanism with technicians and relevant authorities to determine its location in accordance with international conditions and the International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO.
