The Minister of Transport discusses the activities of the international campaign to end the siege on Sana’a airport

A meeting in Sana’a today,  chaired by Minister of Transport Zakaria Al-Shami, discussed the activities of the international campaign to end the siege of Sana’a International Airport and coordination with human rights activists and international activists to break the siege on the airport.

The meeting, which included the head of the International Campaign to End the Siege on Sana’a International Airport, Hamid Abd al-Qadir Antar, and the head of the campaign’s field team, director of Sana’a International Airport, Khaled al-Shayef, discussed the campaign’s role in exposing the crimes of aggression against the Yemeni people for more than five years, and the catastrophic humanitarian repercussions of patients suffering from Chronic diseases as a result of the closure of Sana’a International Airport, arrangements for holding campaign activities and holding a press conference to publicize its activities.

In the meeting, the Minister of Transport affirmed the interest in lifting the ban on Sana’a International Airport and civil flights … noting the role of the international campaign in transferring the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the aggression and the siege.

He pointed out the importance of the role of the Yemeni communities in transferring the injustice of the Yemeni people to the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations, stressing that organizing the stops, events and external conferences had an echo in pressuring the aggression alliance to lift the siege on Sana’a International Airport.

For his part, the head of the International Campaign to End the Siege on Sana’a Airport affirmed the continuation of the campaign in coordination with activists and human rights activists around the world to uncover the crimes of aggression and convey the suffering of patients who were prevented from traveling due to the closure of the airport.

He praised the interest of the Ministry of Transport leadership and its continuous follow-up of the campaign activities, support and facilitation of its tasks.
