The Minister of Transport stresses the necessity of fully opening Sana’a airport and abolishing the ship inspection committee

The Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra, reaffirmed the need to quickly open Sana’a International Airport to all destinations to save the Yemeni people who are subjected to looting, killing, cutting off and suffering on the roads.
The Minister of Transport said, during his meeting today in Sana’a, Director of the Office of the UN Representative, Roxana Bazarjan, that “passengers of all categories, patients, expatriates, students and academics leaving and returning through Aden Airport, are subjected to looting, killing and disruption due to security chaos, the latest of which was the kidnapping of an academic doctor last Thursday.”
And he stressed the need to open Sana’a airport as an inalienable right for the Yemeni people to move and travel through Sana’a airport, pointing out that if a flight increases, countries and organizations come to welcome and thank it as if it was an honor or a gift and not a legal right for Yemenis like the rest of the world’s peoples.
Minister Al-Durra called for the necessity of canceling the inspection committee in Djibouti for ships heading to the port of Hodeidah, because of the great losses they cause to merchants, importers and consumers as a result of the delay of up to three weeks, especially as most of the ships come from the ports of the countries of aggression.
In turn, Bazarjan pointed out, during the meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, and the Chargé d’Affaires of Yemeni Airlines, Khalil Jahaf, to the importance of opening Sana’a International Airport to multiple destinations to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The meeting discussed the flights allocated to the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God through Sana’a Airport and the need to open important destinations such as Cairo, India and others as a human right guaranteed by international covenants, laws and agreements, foremost of which is the Chicago International Convention.
