The Prime Minister participates in the First International Conference on Smart Technology

The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, called on Yemeni and Arab researchers alike to strive hard to make a qualitative leap in the technological and technical fields, to confirm the nation’s presence and reserve an advanced position in this path and its various branches.

During his participation in the first international conference on smart technology, “Internet of Everything” systems and services, which began  at the University of Science and Technology in Sana’a, the prime minister stressed the need for collective thinking to achieve a digital network at the national and national levels for the exchange of information and data, breaking the European monopoly on this technology that He uses it as a tool to control, blackmail and spy on the peoples of the world.

He pointed out that creating an Arab digital network is not a miracle, but rather requires a sincere will and support for Arab researchers, and providing them with material and moral support, to translate this goal, which is what China has practically accomplished.

He said: “There are multiple parties in the globe , competing in various fields, including the technological and technical race, and everyone is seeking to get rid of the technical monopoly of the United States of America, with which we – as Arabs and Muslims – have a problem with it for its support for the Zionist project in the region at the expense of the peoples of the region and their security. and stability.”

The Prime Minister expressed his thanks to the University of Science and Technology for organizing the first conference for the technological aspect, with the participation of a number of local and foreign universities and researchers.

He considered this activity an integral and important part of the activity of any academic institution, in addition to the research aspect. He added: “Scientific research contributes to the academic self-development of the university professor, as well as to improving his performance and scientific and methodological capabilities. The level of Yemen, especially research in rare disciplines and fields.

He highly appreciated the university’s organization of the conference and other scientific and cultural events and activities that the academic community has enjoyed over the past three years… indicating that the university, with its curricula, study plans, research programs and development of its academic aspect in its three branches, remain among the main success factors that the university has been able to achieve until now.

At the conclusion of his speech, Dr. Bin Habtoor expressed hope for the success of the conference, and urged researchers to delve into the research that will be discussed, in order to help break the siege imposed on Yemen by the enemies of the homeland, whose aggression, siege and tampering are still ongoing.

For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Hussein Hazeb, confirmed that the convening of the first scientific conference for smart technology comes within the framework of the achievements achieved by Yemeni public and private universities in parallel with the victories in various fields and fronts.

The conference was considered part of the movement and scientific and research activity that has been taking place in Yemeni universities since the beginning of last January, and within the framework of the ministry’s plan, which declared 2021 AD as the year of scientific research in the medical, engineering, technical, administrative and human sciences.

Minister Hazeb indicated that holding conferences, with local, Arab and international participation, assures the world that the Sana’a government is legitimate.. He indicated that the conferences come within the framework of implementing the national vision, which is centered on education, support and encouragement of innovation and scientific research.

He stressed that the ministry is in the process of organizing four scientific conferences during the remainder of this year, including the second scientific conference for e-learning, noting the efforts of the University of Science and Technology and its administrative and academic staff in preparing and organizing the conference.

At the conference, which was attended by the Ministers of Communications and Information Technology, Misfer Al-Numeer, Technical Education and Vocational Training Ghazi Ahmed Ali Mohsen, Transport Amer Al-Marani, the State, Dr. Hamid Al-Muzjabi, and Deputy Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-Din, the President of the University of Science and Technology, Dr. Adel Al-Mutawakel, considered the conference to be the first inauguration of the events The scientific activities and development workshops that the university seeks for the year 2021-2022 AD to contribute to raising the level of higher education and scientific research, and serving the community in Yemen.

He stressed that the conference is in line with the national vision of building the modern Yemeni state in the education axis, which aims to develop and modernize education to ensure the improvement of its reliable outputs to advance the future of the country, in addition to being a qualitative addition to the official efforts to develop the communications and information technology sector in Yemen.

In turn, the Dean of the College of Computers and Information Technology at the university, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Bilal Al-Fahidi, explained that the conference, in which experts and researchers from 18 Arab and international countries participate, aims to promote research work and innovative ideas for academic scientists and experts all over the world, by covering the latest research work in Advanced engineering and smart technologies.

He pointed out that the conference will discuss in two days more than 55 scientific research by local and international researchers, who were selected from among 131 papers submitted by more than 121 countries and arbitration committees, with 151 internal and external research arbitrators, with an average of three arbitrators for each two research work.

He stated that the conference will shed light on the applications of computing and communications to ensure social development using systems and the Internet of Things, which include “users, researchers, robots, machines, and future ecosystems, within the framework of translating the university’s vision of regional leadership and global excellence that it seeks.”

Two speeches were delivered on the participants by the Deputy Dean of Sana’a Community College, Dr. Ahmed Farhan, and the co-organizer of the Malaysian Ritex Foundation, Dr. Muhammad Arafat Al-Rahman, pointing to the importance of holding the conference with local, Arab and international participation to contribute to the advancement of smart technology and the Internet of Things in Yemen.

The conference will discuss five themes: “smart technologies, the Internet of things, internet data analysis, artificial intelligence, decision-making using remote sensing, language processing, voice and video processing, cloud computing and data science operations management, as well as embedded computing, electronic physical systems for the Internet of things, and emerging applications.” Internet for everything.

The opening of the conference was attended by the Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, the President of the Higher Authority for Science and Innovation, Dr. Mounir Al-Qadi, the Chairman of the University Board of Directors, Raed Al-Shaer, his deputy, Jihad Shukr, the Director of the Information Technology Center, Dr. Fouad Hassan, the heads of private universities, leaders and cadres The university, researchers, representatives of the concerned authorities and the relevant authorities

The Prime Minister, the Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the State of Science and Technology, and the leadership of the University of Science and Technology honored the winners of the University’s Prize for Scientific Research in the fields: “medical, engineering, administrative and humanitarian” for the year 2019-2020, with financial prizes, memorial shields, and certificates of appreciation.
