The Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation denies the allegations of aggression channels

 

The Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation denied the validity of the allegations, which were reported by the channels of the coalition of aggression, that the port of Hodeida was used as a launching point for military actions.

In a statement,  the Foundation expressed its deep regret for the repeated scenario used by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition and its media horns to storm the ports of Hodeida and Saleef with the aim of targeting them.

She stressed that the ports of Hodeida and Saleef are working to relieve the besieged Yemeni people by land, air and sea, who have been living in difficult conditions as a result of the aggression and siege for seven years, and there are no armed manifestations in them, and they are subject to continuous and almost daily UN visits.

The Corporation also confirmed the two ports’ commitment to all the requirements of international maritime codes, and the procedures in force in international ports, and that they are devoid of any armed manifestations, military barracks, or weapons stores.

The statement considered the allegations of the aggression coalition as a violation of international humanitarian law and recognized international covenants, including the four Geneva Conventions, and the protocols attached to them, which criminalize targeting vital facilities that are indispensable to people such as ports and economic facilities, as they are among the civilian objects that are prohibited to be targeted, and are considered war crimes by First degree, crimes against humanity do not have a statute of limitations.

He explained that the head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA), General Michael Beary, visited the port of Hodeida and its facilities on Tuesday, February 1, as well as the Salif port and Ras Issa marina on Thursday, February 3, which refutes the allegations of the aggression coalition and its mouthpieces, and to confirm the civilian The Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, its professionalism and compliance with the International Code of Port and Ship Security issued by the United Nations International Maritime Organization.

The Foundation renewed its call to the international community, the United Nations and its organizations to assume their responsibilities to alleviate the human suffering experienced by the Yemeni people for seven years, which has escalated during the recent period, by obliging the coalition of aggression to lift the siege and stop using the economy as a means of pressure, and to separate the humanitarian side from the political and military sides.

The statement held the international community, the United Nations and its organizations fully responsible for the continued crimes and threats of the coalition of aggression to target the ports of the institution, which portends a humanitarian catastrophe against millions of the Yemeni people
