A meeting chaired by Miftah discusses mechanisms to support and develop the performance of the Civil Defense Authority

An expanded meeting in Sana’a today, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah, discussed mechanisms to support and develop the performance of the Civil Defense Authority, enabling it to carry out its duties in responding to disasters and emergencies.
The meeting, attended by the Deputy Prime Ministers for Defense and Security Affairs, Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan; the Minister of Administration and Local and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani; the Ministers of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Abdullah Al-Amir; Electricity, Energy and Water, Dr. Ali Saif; and Social Affairs and Labor, Samir Bajaalah, reviewed the duties of the Civil Defense Authority, its role in organizing early warning, preventing disasters and natural hazards, and providing first aid and rescue services. It also highlighted the challenges it faces and ways to address them.
In the meeting, which also included the Deputy Ministers of Interior, Major General Abdul Majeed Al-Murtada, and Finance, Nasser Al-Hamdani, Miftah emphasized the importance of the role played by the Civil Defense Authority in protecting lives and property, both during natural disasters and in light of the ongoing aggression against the country.
He said, “The Authority plays important roles in firefighting, rescue, first aid, and rehabilitation, and it is a vital and indispensable device under various circumstances.” The First Deputy Prime Minister stressed the need for government agencies to cooperate with the Civil Defense Authority and provide it with the necessary technical equipment and supplies to enable it to carry out its duties efficiently and enhance its professional and specialized capabilities.
For his part, the Authority’s Chairman, Major General Ibrahim Al-Moayyad, explained that the Authority is performing its duties despite the difficulties it faces.
The meeting resulted in a number of decisions and recommendations aimed at enhancing the work of Civil Defense and enhancing its readiness to confront various types of emergencies and risks.
