Meeting in the Shura Council of the Committee to follow up on the developments of Corona
A Shura Council meeting was held today, headed by the Vice-President of the Shura Council and the head of the committee in charge of following up developments on the Corona virus, Muhammad Nasser Al-Bakhiti, and in the presence of members of the committee in charge of Dr. Fikry Al-Aqrabi, Yahya Muhammad Al-Kahlani, Dr. Abdul Fattah Al-Junaid, Khaled Mahmoud and Ahmed Al-Harbi.
The meeting discussed the developments of the spread of the Corona virus in Yemen, and the measures taken by the relevant authorities towards the latest developments, in addition to discussing recent decisions that reinforce the efforts of the health sector issued by the Higher Committee for Epidemics, and the various precautionary processes and procedures related to confronting this pandemic at the official and popular levels.
At the meeting, Vice-President of the Shura Council Muhammad Nasser Al-Bakhiti praised the efforts of the Higher Ministerial Committee to Combat Epidemics and the Ministry of Public Health during the last period of available capabilities, in limiting the spread of the Corona virus through the implemented measures.
Stressing the importance of community partnership in the precautionary measures against the virus, and the coordination of efforts among all relevant agencies, pointing to the importance of taking the necessary precautionary measures, including the intensification of guidance, health education and community awareness efforts through new media, including the creation of an official page On Facebook, community health media to keep the public informed of the latest developments on the Coronavirus and its methods of dealing, with all transparency.
He also stressed the importance of benefiting from the successful experiences of many countries in confronting the Corona virus, which succeeded with strict measures in applying the mechanisms to besiege the Corona virus epidemic, including the Jordanian experience.
He stressed the importance of developing urgent concepts and solutions regarding all Yemenis stranded abroad who could not be returned to the homeland, because of the procedures for closing the outlets in the framework of the implementation of the decision of the Higher Committee for Epidemic Control.
The meeting touched on a number of problems related to confronting the Corona virus, stressing the importance of the various security services exercising the highest degree of vigilance with regard to combating the smuggling of people from the ports, and the closure of the secondary roads used by the smugglers because of the catastrophic effects this may have on the health and safety of citizens.
The meeting discussed integrative responsibilities to tackle the Corona pandemic, particularly societal and popular efforts mainly in light of the high rates of HIV infection registration in a number of governorates.
He stressed the importance of providing the health sector with all the supplies and medicines to confront the pandemic, including completing the supply of equipment and solutions for testing the Corona virus test, and the importance for the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry to fulfill their responsibilities in supporting the competent authorities at this stage.
The meeting appealed to the citizens to follow the utmost care and precaution by following the preventive instructions against the virus, including staying in homes, due to the high rate of high risks in light of the two cases of corona being recorded in the capital, Sana’a, which were confirmed to be infected with the virus, and the registration of other suspected cases.
The meeting also stressed the speed of addressing the existing problems and continuing to overcome the difficulties facing the humanitarian system present in Yemen, and taking into account the interest of the Yemeni people, to continue its positive role in reducing the human suffering of the citizens as a result of the continuation of the aggression and the blockade, and to serve the pandemic of the Corona virus.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the Shura Council and Secretary-General of the Council.
