A meeting chaired by Al-Wahbani discusses the plans and activities of the Ministry of Transport and its bodies

A meeting in Sana’a, chaired by Jaber Al-Wahbani, a member of the Supreme Political Council, discussed the plans, programs and activities of the Ministry of Transport and its affiliated bodies and institutions for the year 1444 AH in the various fields of transport.

 

The meeting, which included Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs Mahmoud Al-Junaid and Minister of Transport Abdul-Wahhab Al-Durra, reviewed a report on the various projects that have been accomplished during the past period in the transport sectors, agencies and institutions.

 

The meeting touched on stalled projects and the difficulties facing the implementation of projects and ways to address them.

 

At the meeting, a member of the Supreme Political Council, Al-Wahbani, stressed the importance of the role of the Ministry of Transport and its bodies and institutions in developing and supporting the national economy.

 

He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Transport and its sectors in implementing some projects during  the aggression and siege for eight years, urging development and modernization in a way that contributes to serving the Yemeni people.

 

Al-Wahbani pointed out the importance of rehabilitating the republic’s airports, including the international airports of Taiz and Al-Hodeidah, stressing the geographical importance of the two airports in alleviating the suffering of the people of Al-Hodeidah, Taiz and other governorates.

 

He considered transportation in its various fields, land, sea and air, the lifeline of the Yemeni citizen in providing his basic needs, most notably food and medicine.

 

For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Transport and its bodies and institutions in implementing the plans and projects included in the national vision in the first and second phases.

 

He referred to the role of the Ministry of Transport and its agencies in implementing projects in accordance with the paths of the national vision since 2019, as it was precedent and highly interactive in this aspect.

 

In turn, the Minister of Transport reviewed the projects and initiatives of the National Vision that were implemented during the past period, pointing to the efforts of the Ministry and the Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority to modernize and improve the performance of airports in accordance with the technical requirements of the International Aviation Organization “ICAO”.

 

He said, “The projects that have been implemented during the last period in the fields of land, sea and air transport come with support and self-financing. We have strategic projects that need support that will contribute to the upgrading of the transport sector and work to bring a quantum leap in the development and modernization of the transport sectors.”

 

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, the President of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Mohammed Abdul Qadir, and the Director of the Airports Sector at the Authority, Amin Jamaan.
