A meeting chaired by Dr. Bin Habtoor discusses the overall performance of the Ministry of Transport and its affiliated entities

A meeting in Sanaa chaired by the Prime Minister of the caretaker government, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, discussed the general performance of the Ministry of Transport and its affiliated bodies and developments related to protecting the lands of the Sanaa International Airport campus.

The meeting, in which the Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for Security and Defense Affairs, Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, and the Minister of Transport, Abdul-Wahab Al-Durrah, participated, reviewed the efforts made by the main committee, headed by Lieutenant-General Al-Ruwaishan, to preserve the airport campus lands and address problems related to it.

Al-Ruwaishan explained that the committee’s work plan this year focuses on continuing field work by the subcommittees charged with the issues of protecting the fence, receiving complaints, redressing those affected, building streets, and follow-up.

He praised the level of tasks accomplished by the subcommittees to address problems related to the airport campus lands and ensure the safety and fencing of all lands in accordance with the specifications and standards approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Lieutenant General Al-Ruwaishan praised the level of cooperation of all the ministries represented in the committee and the relevant authorities, pointing to the results of the meeting with the local authority in Taiz Governorate regarding the lands and campus of Taiz International Airport, especially regarding the completion of fencing procedures and compensation for those who were not compensated.

For his part, the Caretaker Minister of Transport reviewed the level of implementation of the projects supervised by the Ministry to develop and modernize airports and ports and raise their readiness, most notably Sana’a International Airport and Hodeidah Port.

He explained that many projects have been implemented at Sana’a International Airport in accordance with the requirements of the Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), specifically in the main runway and its lighting, and others in the arrival and departure halls, ceremonial halls, and VIPs.

Al-Durra confirmed that modern security screening devices are currently being installed and trained on, in conjunction with the supply of electrical generators for the airport, runways, and aircraft dock. He indicated that a contract will be signed with the Roads and Bridges Corporation to develop and modernize the parallel exterior and aircraft dock.

He praised the efforts of officials and employees at various administrative and functional levels in the Ministry and its affiliated entities.

In the meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, and the Undersecretary for the Financial and Administrative Affairs Sector, Adel Al-Madani, the Undersecretary for the Ports and Maritime Affairs Sector, Captain Muhammad Abu Bakr Ishaq, reviewed the work at the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation and the projects required to be implemented, as well as the work at the Ministry’s Regional Maritime Center and highlighted its activities in The context of exercising its stated duties.

In turn, the head of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Qader, touched on the work progress of the Authority and Yemeni airports, in addition to the activity of the meteorological sector, which provides its services to all governorates of the Republic.

He stressed that the Authority is in the process of establishing and equipping several meteorological centers in the governorates in a way that enhances the vital role of the meteorology sector at the national level, pointing out that the Authority continues to exercise its duties and activities at the national level in an impartial manner.

At the meeting, Dr. Bin Habtoor expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the main committee to preserve the lands of the Sana’a and Taiz airport campuses, headed by Lieutenant General Al-Ruwaishan.

He affirmed the government’s support and support for all the tasks of the committee and the measures taken by it to address the various problems existing in part of the Sanaa and Taiz airport campus lands.

The caretaker Prime Minister praised the national role played by the Ministry of Transport and its affiliated bodies during the current years of aggression and siege.

He praised the development projects undertaken by the Ministry of Transport and its affiliated entities despite the difficulties and scarcity of available capabilities during the current exceptional period.

He expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Transport, its officials and all its employees for their efforts made to consolidate the stability of the overall performance of the Ministry and its affiliated units and develop their general activity.
The meeting was attended by a number of general directors of the Ministry of Transport.
