A meeting chaired by Minister Al-Durra discusses investment opportunities in the civil aviation sector

Today, the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, headed by the Caretaker Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, discussed investment opportunities in the civil aviation sector, aspects related to training and qualification, the Authority’s strategic plans, and the achievements it has achieved during the past period.
At the meeting, Minister Al-Durra confirmed that one of the Ministry’s priorities is to develop the civil aviation sector in its various fields in a way that contributes to providing air navigation services in accordance with international conditions and requirements.
He explained that the strategic plans to develop the civil aviation sector include the complete rehabilitation of Taiz and Hodeidah international airports, given their economic and social importance.
Al-Durra pointed out the necessity of developing the ground services infrastructure at Sana’a International Airport and creating a competitive environment to exploit investment opportunities in the field of civil aviation.
He pointed out the importance of supporting the strategic plan of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority in several areas, including air transport, shipping and airports, to enhance its competitiveness and develop the level of services it provides, stressing the importance of technical training because of its positive impact on developing the air transport sector in general.
In turn, the Chairman of the Authority, Dr. Muhammad Abdel Qader, stressed the Authority’s interest in rehabilitating Taiz and Hodeidah airports by preparing studies related to that, describing the investment opportunities in the civil aviation sector as promising, especially in airports, ground services, shipping, and air transport.
He stated that the Aviation Authority is working to develop the capabilities of its cadres in the technical and technical aspects and has plans for training and qualification locally and abroad in a way that contributes to the development of civil aviation and meteorology.
