A meeting chaired by the Minister of Transport discusses the situation of the Red Sea Ports Corporation

 

A meeting of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation in the port of Hodeida , headed by the Minister of Transport Amer Ali Al-Marani, discussed the status of the corporation, the level of performance and mechanisms to enhance tasks and address difficulties.

The meeting, which included the Chairman of the Corporation, Captain Muhammad Abu Bakr Ishaq, and his deputy, Engineer Yahya Abbas Sharaf Al-Din, touched on aspects related to the activity of the Hodeida seaport and commercial activity.

In the meeting, Minister Al-Marani praised the efforts of the Red Sea Ports Corporation in facilitating the entry of the Yemeni people’s needs of foodstuffs, medicines and oil derivatives, as well as humanitarian and relief aid to organizations, despite the aggression and siege and in light of modest capabilities.

And he stressed the interest of the leadership of the Ministry of Transport in addressing the difficulties facing work in the port of Hodeida, so that it can perform its tasks in the required manner.

The Minister of Transport stressed the need to redouble efforts and implement development projects in the plans listed with the self-available capabilities. He said, “This must be paralleled by the development of future plans to advance the performance of the Corporation’s ports.”

While the Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and Executive Director, Captain Isaac, reviewed the Foundation’s activity and the difficulties it faces as a result of the aggression and siege.

He pointed out that the recent opening of roads will reflect positively on the ease of movement of the institution and the return of life to normal, as well as the return of the activity of traders and investors .. Referring to the institution and within the framework of the national vision and its directives, it has service projects that will be self-implemented according to the available capabilities.

Ishaq stressed the importance of coordination between the organizations working in the institution and the relevant ones to address duplication of directives, raise violations, and apply legal procedures regulating work.

And he valued the support of the leadership of the Ministry of Transport for the Corporation, which enabled it to perform its tasks in providing services to port users.

The meeting was attended by the directors of the Maritime Affairs Authority, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Mushki, Coast Guard Operations Colonel Rokn Aziz Ali, and the Corporation’s general departments.
