A meeting headed by Al-Wahbani discusses the performance and achievements of the transport sectors

A meeting at the Ministry of Transport, chaired by a member of the Supreme Political Council, Jaber Al-Wahbani, discussed the level of performance ,evaluation and achievements in the various transport sectors in the technical,  and professional aspects during the year 2022 AD.

 

The meeting, which included the Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, reviewed the performance reports of the ministry and its affiliated bodies and institutions, and the development plans for airports and ports that were subjected to systematic and direct destruction by the aggression coalition countries and its mercenaries, which took them out of full readiness.

 

The meeting, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, and the President of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Qadir, touched on the status of Taiz International Airport, its rehabilitation plan, preserving the lands and protecting the airport from any attack, and the role of the local authority and the security and military agencies in preventing any development or violations.

 

Al-Wahbani was briefed on the plan to rehabilitate Taiz and Al-Hodeidah airports to provide local and international air navigation services in accordance with international conditions and requirements and the International Aviation Organization “ICAO”.

 

In the meeting, the member of the Supreme Political Council, Al-Wahbani, praised the efforts made to restore the readiness of Sana’a International Airport.

 

He said, “The projects that were implemented four months ago at Sana’a International Airport represented in the rehabilitation of the airport halls, the flight field, and the main runway for landing aircraft, and its readiness to receive commercial and humanitarian aircraft around the clock.”

 

Al-Wahbani stressed the need to implement the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council during his meeting with the Minister of Transport and the committee composed of ministries and concerned authorities in charge of preserving the lands and airport campuses, preventing violations, apprehending violators, referring them to the Public Prosecution and the Court, and forming inventory and compensation committees for those who have not previously been compensated.

 

While the Minister of Transport appreciated the attention of the President and members of the Supreme Political Council and their continuous follow-up to the activities of the Ministry and its air, sea and land sectors.

 

He stressed the keenness of the ministry, its bodies and institutions to implement development plans to raise the level of performance and continuous evaluation to reach the best results to upgrade the various transport sectors and provide services to the Yemeni people.

 

Minister Al-Durra pointed out that the importance of Taiz and Al-Hodeidah airports lies in the population density that enjoys its services, indicating that the two airports were bombed by the aggression, which led to their departure from readiness to receive flights.

 

He touched on future plans for the rehabilitation of Taiz and Al-Hodeidah international airports, pointing out that the Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority has a future study in this aspect.

 

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Airports Sector at the Authority, Amin Jamaan, the Taiz International Airport Project Unit, Eng. Ali Saif, and the Assistant Director General of Taiz Airport for Technical Affairs, Eng. Bashir Al-Hakimi.
