A meeting of the Technical Committee to restart the Land Transport Corporation

 

in Sana’a, the first meeting of the Technical Committee for the Re-operation of the Local Corporation for Land Transport was held, headed by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Chairman of the Committee, Muhammad Al-Hashemi

The committee discussed, in the presence of the head of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs Walid Al-Wadai, the assistant undersecretary for the land transport sector Abdul Malik Ali and the director of the local land transport institution Muhammad Al-Asri, the work mechanism and tasks of the committee in following up on the project to restart the institution, and preparing and updating the economic feasibility study for its restart.

At the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Transport stressed the need to work to activate the activity and role of the institution to provide tangible and competitive services in the field of land transport, in a way that contributes to serving citizens and alleviating their suffering.. Al-Hashemi pointed out the importance of working in the spirit of one team to come up with a future vision that contributes to the re-running of the institution and guarantees its competition.

He directed the formation of work teams to achieve the goals for which the committee was formed, which is to address the legal status of the institution, and to update economic feasibility studies to contribute to restoring its role and activity in the field of land transport

The Deputy Minister heard from the head of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority a clarification about the procedures and executive steps that were worked on in amending the institution’s project decision.. He stressed that activating the activity and work of the Land Transport Corporation will create competition in the field and make a shift in the field of land transport.

While the director of the Corporation reviewed the difficulties that the Corporation is facing, most notably the financial support to reactivate its activities, pointing out that the Corporation has technical and professional cadres and an infrastructure that qualifies it to restore its role in the field of land transport
