Directions to stop collecting local fees for urban transport and taxi buses in the capital secretariat

The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs – Minister of Finance in the caretaker government, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, directed to suspend and stop any collection of local fees for urban transport and for all taxi buses operating on the routes in the capital secretariat, based on the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council.
The circular addressed by Dr. Abu Lahoum to the mayor of the capital and the head of the General Authority for Land Transport Affairs included suspending and halting the collection of local fees for using the specified parking on all small means of transportation and in all “public, long” parking lots, or under bridges.
The circular stressed that everything would be taken to ensure the implementation of these directives and to arrest anyone who takes any sums of money from bus drivers or other small means of transportation under any name and to take legal measures against him.
