Discussing aspects related to returning Saada airport to service

The governor of Saada, Muhammad Jaber Awad, discussed today with the Aviation Authority’s representative, Raed Talib, aspects of the return of Saada airport to service.

The meeting, which included the assistant undersecretary for the airports sector, Yahya Al-Kahalani, the general manager of the Sana’a airport project, Eng. Ahmed Haider, and the general manager of Saada Airport, Zaeem Farhan, reviewed the general plan and plans for Saada airport.

The meeting touched on three options for the project that the General Aviation Authority will carry out to mark the demarcation of the Saada airport campus and determine the areas where construction is prohibited.

At the meeting, Governor Awad stressed the speed with which to put the airport’s marking and identify areas for dependence in the future, stressing the willingness of the local authority to provide the necessary support and provide the required materials to return Saada airport to service.

He pointed to the importance of the airport with regard to the air transport of agricultural products and their marketing, as the governorate is an agricultural food basket.
