Discussing precautionary measures to confront Corona through land ports

A meeting in Sana’a today, chaired by Minister of Transport Zakaria Al-Shami, discussed preventive measures to ensure that the Corona virus is encountered through the main land gates.

The meeting, in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for the air transport sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, head of the General Authority for Land Transport Regulatory Affairs, Walid Al-Wadii, and officials of domestic and international mass transport companies, reviewed the measures that can be taken by mass transport companies against those arriving from abroad and adherence to the decisions of the Higher Committee for Epidemics. 

At the meeting, the Minister of Transport stressed the importance of the role of mass transport companies in facing the Corona virus by committing to the decisions and recommendations issued by the Supreme Committee for Epidemics serving the public interest. 

He pointed out that the General Authority for Land Transport Affairs is working in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the relevant authorities to take the necessary measures in the land ports to confront the entry of the Corona virus.

And that the closure of air, land and sea ports comes in implementation of the decisions of the Higher Ministerial Committee to Combat Epidemics as a precautionary measure to confront the Corona virus, especially after the World Health Organization declared it to become a global epidemic.

The Shami Minister also stressed the importance of the commitment of different transport companies to the preventive plans laid down by the General Organization for Land Transportation Affairs for companies to ensure that the Corona virus is faced … pointing to the need to intensify the awareness process for passengers and travelers through brochures of the severity of the virus.

In turn, the Chairman of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority affirmed that the measures taken by the authority in the main land outlets and others come in accordance with the decisions of the Higher Committee for Epidemics to serve the public interest. 

He pointed to the importance of the role of mass transport companies in facing the Corona virus by providing the authority with data on travelers, especially those who come from outside the homeland … stressing the importance of raising the level of community awareness in order to preserve public health. 

In turn, officials of mass transport companies affirmed their commitment to all decisions, precautionary measures and measures issued by the Higher Committee for Epidemics and the General Organization for Land Transport Affairs.
