Discussing the coordination mechanism between the sectors operating in the port of Hodeida to facilitate the entry of commercial container ships

 

A meeting held at the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation headed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, Captain Muhammad Abu Bakr Ishaq, , Monday, 29 – Muharram 1443 AH corresponding to 6-9-2021 AD, discussed the mechanism of coordination and cooperation between the sectors operating in the port of Hodeida to facilitate the entry of commercial container ships.

The meeting, in the presence of the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, Eng. Yahya Abbas Sharaf Al-Din, and officials and managers of the sectors operating in the port of Hodeida and the plant quarantine, reviewed the arrangements and measures that have been taken to provide the facilities recently announced by the government sector for the private sector, chambers of commerce and navigation rooms for the entry of container ships to the port of Hodeida.

In the meeting, Captain Isaac stressed the importance of the work of the sectors working in facilitating the entry of commercial container ships to the port of Hodeida through the development of plans and practical studies.. He pointed out that the Corporation provided a package of facilities to all carriers, including granting a grace period of 21 days for unloading container ships in the port of Hodeida in addition to what the government approved, including fixing the customs exchange rate of the dollar at 250 riyals and reducing customs duties by 49 percent, in order to encourage traders, businessmen and shipping line companies to import and find new shipping lines that contribute to increasing and lifting container ships to the port of Hodeida.

Urging the concerned authorities and administrations at the port to work in the spirit of one team and start implementing the plans, each in its own right, in the public interest.. He pointed out the need for everyone to assume the responsibility to alleviate the suffering of the citizen in light of the continued aggression and siege.. He appreciated the interest of the Supreme Political Council, the Salvation Government and the Ministry of Transport in the port of Hodeida. The strategic.

He reiterated the technical and operational readiness of the Corporation and the port to receive container ships and all commercial ships, in accordance with international standards applicable in international ports.

While the Director General of the Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Branch, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Dawla, and Director of the Plant Quarantine Station, Muhammad Hussein Rasim, pointed out the importance of holding such meetings.. They stressed the need for coordination between all operating sectors and the Chambers of Commerce and Navigation to enter container ships into the port of Hodeida.

They praised the role and keenness of the leadership of the Red Sea Ports Corporation to solve the problems and obstacles facing the sectors operating in the port and shipping line companies.
