Inauguration of maintenance of Pier No. (5) & inspection marine boats in Hodeida Port

Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Zaid Ahmed Al-Washli, inaugurated today,Tuesday, the maintenance work of Berth No. (5) in Hodeida Port, implemented by the Works Department to enhance and develop the service and navigation work of the port.

At the inauguration, Al-Washli explained that rehabilitating the pier with local cadres will contribute to implementing part of the work development requirements , enhancing the level of performance and activity in Hodeida Port.

For his part, the Director of Projects and Engineering Supervision at the Corporation, Engineer Sami Maqbouli, stated that the maintenance work includes rehabilitating all reinforced concrete elements with a length of 220 linear meters, in addition to making the basic equipment for the sidewalk.

He stated that the maintenance work will be carried out in stages in a way that does not affect the operational process in Hodeida Port.

During the visit, Al-Washli noted the level of efforts to implement the ongoing maintenance work and the rate of completion therein, stressing the necessity of completing maintenance work to maintain operational readiness in Hodeida Port.

He pointed out that the development plan of the Red Sea Ports Corporation includes raising the level of port operating efficiency and re-addressing the damage to infrastructure, equipment and machinery as a result of the aggression’s bombing.
