The head of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority stressed the importance of activating the axial weighing stations on the main roads, to maintain the road and bridge network.

He pointed out that activating the law on the axial weight and overall dimensions of heavy transport vehicles and trucks, and the commitment of their drivers to legal loads, will contribute to limiting the damage to the asphalt road network caused by excessive loads, especially trucks carrying petroleum products.

He pointed out the importance of coordination between the concerned authorities to implement the weights law on transport vehicles, to raise awareness of road users about the dangers of truck overloads, and to apprehend violators.

Meanwhile, the head of the Roads Maintenance Fund confirmed that the state incurs billions annually in the restoration and repair of roads, due to the failure to implement the heavy loads pivot balance law
