Land Transport Authority discusses the preparation of a regulation regulating the transport of dangerous materials

At the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs, a meeting of the joint committee was held to prepare a regulation for the transport of hazardous materials, headed by the head of the authority, Walid Al-Wadai.

The committee, which was attended by representatives of the relevant authorities in the oil, the General Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality, Civil Defense, the Ministry of Transport and the Land Transport Authority, discussed the technical and model parameters and standards for preparing the regulation for the transport of hazardous materials, in a way that contributes to preserving the homeland and the citizen.

At the meeting, the head of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs referred to the importance of preparing a regulation for the transport of hazardous materials, pointing out the importance of concerted efforts between the various relevant authorities in participating to come up with a unified vision in preparing the regulation.

He stressed the need to take into account the relevant international agreements to set security and safety standards for the transportation of these materials, with the aim of protecting the citizen, the environment, the means of transport and its drivers, and the national economy in general.

He indicated that the authority, in partnership with a number of relevant authorities, had previously prepared a number of regulations, which had a positive role in the process of regulating transport, such as agricultural transport and student transport.
