Minister of Transport affirms the preservation and control of Yemen’s airspace as one of his rights and sovereignty

Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, stressed the need to fully preserve and control the airspace of the Republic of Yemen as one of its rights and sovereignty.

During his inspection of the level of job discipline in the meteorology and air navigation sectors on the second official working day after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, he indicated that the aggression coalition violated international laws, agreements and covenants by closing destinations to sick and humanitarian travelers.

“The weekly flights to one destination are not enough, which requires the opening of Sana’a International Airport and the airports of Taiz, Hodeidah and Saada as they were before the aggression, unconditionally,” he said.

He pointed to the importance of the services provided by the meteorology and air navigation sectors in climate forecasts and weather changes. He added, “Navigational and meteorological services are important in preserving lives and property, which must be followed up through the weather forecasts issued daily.”

Al-Durra indicated that the Ministry and the Civil Aviation Authority are seeking to provide the technical equipment required for the meteorology and air navigation sectors, and work to develop and provide the best services to the citizen.

And he stressed the Ministries of Information and Communications and Information Technology to raise awareness and disseminate weather forecasts and educate citizens in this aspect.

Minister of Transport, along with the two assistant undersecretaries for the meteorology sectors, Eng. Mohamed Saeed Hamid and air navigation, Eng. Abdullah Al-Mutawakel, were briefed on the level of discipline in the specialized technical general departments of the meteorology and air navigation sectors and the services provided to the community.
