Minister of Transport stresses the importance of opening new destinations for commercial flights through Sana’a Airport

Minister of Transport, Abdulwahab Yahya Al-Durra, stressed the importance of expediting the opening of new destinations to operate commercial and civil flights through Sanaa International Airport to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis.

This came during a meeting, which included Deputy Minister of Transport Mohammed Al-Hashemi, Chairman of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Qader, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Yemeni Airlines Company, Abdul Malik Mutahar, and the Executive Director of the Yemeni Oil Company, Engineer Ammar Al-Adra’i.

He pointed out that the opening of new destinations through Sana’a Airport will facilitate the movement and freedom of transportation for Yemeni travelers, especially patients who need to travel for treatment abroad, praising the efforts and services of the Yemeni Airlines Company, which it provides to travelers at Yemeni airports.

Al-Durra pointed out the need for the Yemeni Oil Company to provide fuel for commercial and United Nations aircraft at Sana’a International Airport, as agreed upon and approved by the UN envoy at a meeting during his recent visit to the capital, Sana’a.

He stressed the necessity of the Yemeni Airlines Company’s commitment to work in accordance with the developmental plans and studies that contribute to upgrading its services in the field of civil aviation.

Minister Al-Durra urged Yemen Airways to redouble its efforts to improve performance and develop the company as the official carrier of the Republic of Yemen.

The meeting heard from the charge d’affaires of Yemenia Airlines a detailed explanation of the company’s achievements and the challenges it faces and working to solve them. He said, “The company provides air transport services with all professionalism and craftsmanship through highly qualified technical cadres in the field of civil aviation.”

In turn, the Executive Director of the Yemeni Oil Company expressed the company’s readiness to provide fuel for civil and UN planes that land at Sana’a International Airport on a regular basis.

He stressed that the company seeks to provide oil derivatives to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni citizen, despite the continuation of the countries of the coalition of aggression in the piracy of oil ships.

The meeting, in the presence of the Deputy of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, the Civil Aviation Authority and Meteorology, Raed Jabal and the spokesperson for the Yemeni Oil Company, Essam Al-Mutawakel, discussed the workflow of the Yemeni Airlines Company, the opening of new destinations through Sana’a International Airport, and the provision of the Yemen Oil Company with the necessary fuel for commercial and United Nations aircraft at Sana’a Airport.
