Minister of Transport stresses the importance of opening the main roads and doubling commercial and civil flights

Minister of Transport, Abdel Wahab Al-Durra, stressed the importance of implementing the remaining provisions of the humanitarian truce sponsored by the United Nations, opening main roads, and doubling commercial and civil flights through Sana’a International Airport.

Al-Durra, at  meeting, which included the Chairman of the Land Transport Authority Walid Al-Wadai’i, the Secretary-General of the Civil Alliance for Peace and National Reconciliation, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Olfi, and members of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Secretariat, praised what Yemeni Airlines had done in scheduling six new flights through Sana’a Airport during August  Next to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

He explained that the new flights were scheduled for days (1, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 12) of the month of August.

Minister Al-Durra renewed the demand of the UN envoy to conduct the agreed trips to Cairo and to allow container ships to enter the port of Hodeida, and not to delay the oil derivatives ships from unloading at the port of Hodeida, especially since they had obtained permits from the United Nations.

He pointed out the importance of opening the main roads to secure citizens, travelers and their properties, and to facilitate the movement of movement and the transfer of goods and oil derivatives between cities and governorates smoothly and easily.

“The violations suffered by the pilgrims in the Al-Mahfad district in the Abyan governorate and other crimes require the opening of the main roads, and the United Nations must bear full responsibility for what happens to citizens and travelers on rough and unsafe roads,” he said.

Minister Al-Durra pointed out that opening and securing roads is a paramount necessity to alleviate the suffering of travelers and citizens, protect them and preserve their property from looting and robbery.

He also affirmed the support and backing of all efforts aimed at opening the main roads, including the Damt-Marais-Qataba road in Al-Dhalea governorate, Al-Rahda-Karsh-Aden road, and the Marib-Sana’a road and others in a way that alleviates the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The Secretary-General of the Civil Alliance for Peace and National Reconciliation pointed out the importance of opening these roads for citizens and travelers, transporting goods and entering oil derivatives.

In turn, the head of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority indicated the need to open roads and oblige the other party to do so.. Pointing to the looting and looting of travelers and pilgrims in the Al-Mahfad district in Abyan governorate by the mercenaries of the aggression.

The meeting discussed the executive mechanism for opening roads between Sanaa and Aden as a community initiative, and the arrangements agreed upon to ensure the implementation of the mechanism for opening the Damt-Maris-Qataba road.
