Minister of Transport stresses the importance of the role of firefighters in confronting accidents and saving lives

Minister of Transport, Abdulwahab Yahya Al-Durra, confirmed that the firefighter and rescuer is the first man to be relied upon in facing accidents to secure the safety of lives, property, aircraft and buildings at airports.

The minister stressed In the honoring ceremony organized by the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority represented by the Airports Sector, the General Directorate of Fire and Rescue, on the occasion of the International Day of Fire and Rescue, the importance of rehabilitation and development for firefighters and rescue workers to perform their role with high professionalism.

He pointed out that civil aviation accidents are very few, but the small percentage of aviation accidents leads to major disasters.. He pointed out the need for firefighters and rescue personnel to be prepared and prepared for a high and permanent level.

Minister Al-Durra praised the efforts of the leadership of the Civil Aviation Authority and its interest in its technical and professional cadres, including firefighters and rescuers in all airports of the Republic without exception, and the navigational services it provides to ensure the security and safety of civil aviation.

He renewed his call to the United Nations to open all airports in the Republic, in accordance with international laws, charters and agreements that criminalize targeting or closing airports to civilians, and operating all civilian commercial flights through Sana’a International Airport and the rest of the Yemeni airport unconditionally.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, Raed Jabal, congratulated the firefighters and rescue workers working at airports on this international occasion, stressing that the celebration of this occasion aims to draw attention to the great role played by firefighters and rescuers in saving lives, property, aircraft and buildings at airports.

He stressed that the firefighters and rescuers are the closest to the plane and to the fire, sacrificing their lives to save other lives in need of life, pointing out the importance of honoring the firefighters and rescue workers at all airports for their humanitarian role in saving lives.

In turn, the Director of Fire and Rescue at the Airports Sector, Saleh Al-Ahjri, pointed out the importance of honoring the firefighters for their sacrifices in order to save the lives of others, protect property and facilities, and maintain safety procedures.

He explained that the firefighter and rescuer enjoys a good and honorable reputation at the local and international levels through their work in air accidents.

While the honored speech delivered by Amin Al-Siaghi expressed his thanks and appreciation for the interest of the leaderships of the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority and Meteorology in the firefighters and rescuers at all airports .. considering the honor an incentive to raise morale in the further development and advancement of firefighters and rescuers in the field of civil aviation security and safety.

In the honoring ceremony, which was attended by the Assistant Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation Authority for the Airports Sector Yahya Al-Kahlani, the Aviation Security and Safety Sector, Dr. Abdul Hamid Abu Taleb, the directors of Sanaa Airport Khaled Al-Shayef and Air Transport, Dr. Mazen Ghanem, the Civil Aviation Institute, Dr. Naji Al-Sahmi, and Airports Amin Jamaan, a poetic poem was recited  and honoring a number of firefighters and rescuers Airport workers with certificates of appreciation.
