President Al-Mashat briefs Political Council, Parliament Speakers & Ministers on developments of consultations

His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, chaired today, Monday, a meeting that included members of the Supreme Political Council, the Speakers of Parliament and the Council of Ministers, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs, during which he briefed them on the latest political developments and the results of the consultations with the Omani delegation that took place in Sana’a.

His Excellency President Al-Mashat indicated that the consultations with the Omani delegation bore positive ideas related to the humanitarian file, foremost of which is the payment of salaries to all state employees from oil and gas revenues, the full opening of Sana’a airport and Hodeida port, the opening of roads and the exchange of prisoners.

The meeting affirmed that the humanitarian file has a priority with all considerations, and it is the proper and correct entry point for moving to any other files.

It also valued the efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman and its keenness to advance the peace process in Yemen, which are commendable efforts that are valued by the leadership in Yemen.

The meeting noted the keenness of the Supreme Political Council and the Salvation Government on the success of the efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and just peace, stressing the keenness to achieve stability in the region in a way that serves international peace and security.

It valued the steadfastness of all the Yemeni people in the face of the US-Saudi aggression and its unjust siege for 8 years, which caused the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.

The meeting renewed its call for those involved in treason to return to the bosom of the homeland and benefit from the general amnesty decision, indicating that this call represents a valuable opportunity that should be exploited.

It affirmed its strong condemnation mercenaries and agents’ decision to raise the price of the illegal customs dollar to 750 riyals, and the rest of the economic measures that will lead to an increase in food prices and medicine commodities, oil derivatives, transportation fees, etc., and thus will constitute additional burdens on citizens throughout Yemen, especially in the areas under occupation.
The meeting also confirmed that these decisions come in the context of the economic war that America and Britain are supervising, through which they are trying to bring the Yemeni people to their knees.

The meeting called on merchants to go to import from Hodeida port, where the price of a customs dollar is 250 riyals, taking into account the conditions of citizens and alleviating their suffering.
