Raed Jabal:- We received requests from airlines to operate flights through Sana’a Airport

 

The Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority(CAMA) chairman, Raed Jabal, revealed that since the beginning of the truce, the authority has received requests from Arab and foreign airlines to resume operating flights to and from Sana’a International Airport, noting that, as a result of the blockade, the access of the companies has been obstructed.

Jabal said, that any new extension of the truce must be a priority to fully open Sana’a International Airport for all companies wishing to land at the airport.

He stressed that Sana’a Airport is ready to receive all airline flights, in accordance with the standards in force at international airports and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

He said, “Currently, we need at least ten flights a day, to meet part of the citizens’ needs.”

Jabal indicated that 6 thousand passengers were leaving and arriving at the airport on a daily basis, through more than 30 flights a day that were departing from Sana’a airport. He pointed out that 14 Arab and foreign airlines were landing at Sana’a airport before the aggression.

CAMA chairman called on the United Nations to implement all provisions of the humanitarian truce, and to open Sana’a airport without condition or restriction, as it is a legal requirement that contributes to alleviating Yemeni people’s suffering in general, and the sick in particular.
