Red Sea Ports Institution condemns detention of ships’ aggression

The Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation condemned the aggression coalition countries’ continued denial of access to relief ships, oil derivatives and commercial ships to Hodeidah ports for more than two months, despite obtaining permits from the United Nations and fulfilling all inspection procedures.

The Foundation affirmed in a statement that the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received a copy of it that the aggression coalition is holding up to today 15 ships, including eight oil ships with a load of 223 thousand and 192 tons of diesel and gasoline, and six commercial ships carrying about 80 thousand and 736 tons of flour and wheat Sugar and oil, as well as a container ship belonging to the World Food Program.

The statement denounced that the countries of the aggression alliance did not grant departure permits for the lucky trader and tranc ocean ships from the port of Hodeidah, despite the unloading of their cargo, and ten days passed on the first ship and three days on the second.

The statement indicated that the continued detention of ships is totally incompatible with the agreement of Sweden and the practical steps presented by the national party in the Redeployment Committee in the ports of Hodeidah, which came in consideration of the humanitarian situation, and a commitment to facilitate the movement of civilians and goods to and from the city of Hodeidah and its ports.

The statement indicated that the aggression coalition’s resort to economic warfare and the use of the starvation weapon and unjustified detention of ships demonstrate the aggression’s aggression in killing the Yemeni people who are experiencing the worst humanitarian crisis as a result of the aggression and the blockade and is a crime against humanity and a war crime that requires accountability.

The statement called on the United Nations and the international community to take a clear stance towards preventing the aggression coalition from entering ships loaded with food and relief materials to the ports of Hodeidah and preventing their departure … warning of the increasing risks of unjustly detaining ships and their negative repercussions on all aspects of life.

The statement reaffirmed the institution’s position rejecting all practices and the unjust conditions imposed by the aggression alliance countries on ships and restrictions that violate all international regulations and laws … stressing the need to release detained ships urgently, unload their cargo in the ports of Hodeidah, and neutralize the economy.

The Foundation blamed the United Nations and all international organizations and the international community for the full responsibility of what will happen as a result of the unjust blockade and the detention of ships and preventing them from entering the port of Hodeidah … expressing its regret for the silence and ignorance of the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the aggression that targets the lives of its children and takes their lives.
