The Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation discusses preparations to receive container ships

Wednesday 17-7-1444 AH, corresponding to 2-8-2023 AD, the Board of Directors of the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation discussed the readiness of the container terminal to receive container ships.

 

The meeting, which was chaired by the Chairman of the Corporation, Captain Mohammed Abu Bakr bin Ishaq in the port of Hodeidah, reviewed the progress of implementing the Council’s decisions, and the procedures and equipment for receiving commercial container ships in the port of Hodeidah.

 

In the meeting, which was attended by members of the Board of Directors, Ishaq referred to the advantages possessed by the port of Hodeidah in terms of the volume of container handling, the presence of an integrated port community in which modern laboratories are available and the speed of customs clearance procedures, in addition to the reduced customs duties and the reduction in the volume of transportation expenses compared to the cost of transportation. Exorbitant costs from other ports.

 

He appreciated the efforts of the leadership and cadres of the Corporation in the continuity of the readiness of the port of Hodeidah to receive cargo ships and containers despite the blockade and aggression.

 

Ishaq called on all merchants to benefit from the facilities and import through the port of Hodeidah, which would reduce the burdens on the citizen in light of the current circumstances that our country is going through.

 

While Captain Ishaq pointed out the importance of the strategic port of Hodeidah for commercial traffic, and the speed of transporting goods in a faster time and at lower costs… stressing that the Corporation provided great facilities to importing merchants.

 

He stressed the importance of the international community assuming responsibility, including the international community and the United Nations, to stop the obstacles imposed by the aggression coalition on various imports and goods arriving at the port of Hodeidah.

 

The meeting also discussed the internal and external training plan for the organization’s cadres for the year 1445 AH.

The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Directors and relevant authorities from the general administrations of the container terminal, human resources and financial affairs.
