The Council of Ministers approves the executive steps to suspend 49% of customs for containers imported through the port of Hodeidah

 

The Council of Ministers, in its periodic meeting  headed by Council President Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, approved the executive procedures for suspending 49 percent of customs on each container loaded with goods arriving through the port of Hodeidah.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Affairs, Dr. Hussein Makbouli, had reviewed the positive effects of this government decision, which was announced by a member of the Supreme Political Council, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, in implementation of presidential directives, during his meeting last week with businessmen and importers.. Pointing out in this aspect This decision, which came in response to the client government’s decision to raise the price of the customs dollar to five hundred against the dollar, i.e. by 100 percent compared to what prevailed before that, comes to alleviate the suffering of citizens by decreasing the value of basic commodity prices by at least 40 percent.

He touched on the advantages of the port of Hodeidah in terms of the availability of modern laboratories to examine goods, as well as the volume of daily container handling, and the speed of customs clearance procedures, in addition to reducing the volume of transportation expenses compared to the current high transportation cost from the port of Aden to the free governorates, indicating the importance of the decision in encouraging importers To return to the port of Hodeidah in light of these facilities and privileges.

The Council directed the appropriation of 250 riyals against the exchange of the dollar for goods imported through the port of Hodeidah.

The Council stood before the outcomes of the joint meeting of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council, yesterday, in the presence of representatives from the government side, and the nature of the questions raised during the meeting related to the government and its affiliates.

The Council noted the importance of this meeting and the topics it discussed related to vital issues related to continuing to confront the US-Saudi aggression and its agents and mercenaries, and the mechanism for dealing with the effects of the Saudi regime’s decision to expel 106 university professors from its universities, especially in Jizan, Asir and Najran, in addition to hundreds of thousands of students. The council listened to the report of the Deputy Prime Minister for Security and Defense Affairs, Lieutenant-General Jalal Al-Rowaishan, on the general situation in all the fronts facing the US-Saudi aggression coalition and its mercenaries, stressing that the situation in general is under the field and fire control of the army, the popular committees, and the free volunteers from among the tribesmen. On various fronts, he praised the high fighting spirit of the army, the popular committees and volunteers, and its direct repercussions in the field victories being achieved and the control of strategic sites and areas, especially in the Ma’rib front and the outskirts of Al-Bayda.

He pointed to the continuation of the aggression and its mercenaries on the coastal front in their continuous violations of the “Stockholm Agreement”, through their repeated targeting with artillery, a number of areas in Hodeidah governorate, from which civilians were not spared, as well as infiltration attempts that are decisively addressed by the army and committees.

The report reviewed the security situation in the Capital Municipality and the governorates, and their positive developments in the various governorates and districts under the administration of the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government, which are in a state of comprehensive stability.. Noting that the opposite of that is what the governorates under the Saudi-Emirati occupation and their militias are experiencing. Especially in the cities of Taiz and Aden, whose security conditions are witnessing a complete chaos and the spread of killing, intimidation of citizens, and a violation of honor in an unacceptable manner by all the Yemeni people, who resent and condemn the violation of people’s sanctity.

The report focused on the security operation in Al-Bayda governorate, which resulted in the access to a large warehouse of explosive devices and belts, in addition to the efforts of the security services in the fight against drugs, and the seizure of large quantities of cannabis during this operation, pointing to the increase in the activity of drug smugglers during The recent period is remarkable, which clearly indicates that the aggression coalition is behind this organized action as a kind of war against the Yemeni people, and their youth in particular.

The Council renewed its great pride and pride in the heroic epics that the army and the popular committees control, and their legendary steadfastness for the seventh year, and the huge sacrifices they make while facing the abusive aggressors, their mercenaries and their agents.. Stressing that this model of steadfastness, challenge and confrontation is not strange to the proud Yemeni people who have known, throughout history. The Council praised the qualitative operations carried out by the Ministry of Interior and its security services to combat crime and confront the plans and conspiracies of the aggression, to undermine the security and tranquility of the Yemeni people, including the Al-Bayda operation, and the resolute response to drug and hashish smuggling operations in particular. The Council approved the draft submitted by the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Ahmed Al-Ali, regarding the amendment of Prime Minister’s Decision No. 346 of 2020 AD regarding the executive regulations of Electricity Law No. (1) of 2009 AD, and directed the completion of the necessary legal procedures regarding this amendment.

The amendment, which is part of the ministry’s plan to reform and develop the energy sector, comes to encourage competition in the production and use of electric energy from renewable energy sources, in addition to raising energy efficiency and limiting the depletion of hard currency in the purchase of fossil fuels.

The Council discussed the memorandum submitted by the Acting Minister of Public Works and Roads, Eng. Muhammad Al-Dhari, regarding a draft decision of the Prime Minister regarding the technical requirements guide for commercial, industrial and service establishments.

The project includes various general requirements in various construction aspects and accompanying services for each of the complexes, commercial centers, residential and public commercial buildings, markets, event halls, restaurants of all types and levels, private hospitals and clinics, private schools, universities and higher institutes, entertainment centers, car showrooms, gas filling and selling stations, and shops Selling and distributing gas, tile factories, stone saws, all kinds of professional workshops, sports centers, and other commercial, industrial and service establishments.

The requirements include sites, technical and construction works, health spaces, security and safety, and others.
