The Prime Minister participates in the World Meteorological Day event

 

Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor affirmed the commitment of the Republic of Yemen, with its capital, Sanaa, to its international and regional responsibilities.

During his participation in the event organized by the Aviation and Meteorology Authority on the World Meteorological Day, under the slogan “Early Warning and Early Action”, the Prime Minister indicated that reviving this occasion and other occasions with international and regional dimensions is one of the commitments that the Salvation Government confirms to carry out in coordination with the frameworks competent international.

The activity of the Ministry of Transport and its affiliates was considered an integral part of the resistance exercised by the Yemeni people in the face of the tyrannical aggression.

He pointed out that the Sovereign Ministry of Transport is still in the eighth year of the aggression and siege, performing its functions and tasks to the fullest.. Expressing in this regard thanks and appreciation to Minister Al Marani, the ministry’s undersecretaries and heads of its affiliated agencies for their efforts to stabilize work.

The Prime Minister clarified that the staff of the Ministry of Transport in general and the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology in particular proved that it is a highly professional national cadre and that it does not serve specific people or entities, but rather the Republic of Yemen with its airports and sea and land ports.

Dr. Bin Habtoor touched on what was included in the speech of the leader of the revolution, Mr. Abdul-Malik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, yesterday, Friday, a comprehensive presentation of the history of the aggression, its conspiracies and plans against Yemen, land and people, in addition to the messages he carried to the aggressors, most notably that the Yemeni people in the eighth year will be more Power and pain to the enemy.

He stated that the process of breaking the siege, in its various stages, translated part of the messages that the Leader of the Revolution alluded to in his speech.. He pointed out that the new peace initiative launched by His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, in his speech yesterday evening, is tantamount to extending the hand of peace from New to the aggressor party and test the sincerity of his intentions.

The Prime Minister stressed that the so-called Riyadh Conference 2 will not bring about the peace that the Yemeni people seek, but rather with shame and disgrace on all those who participated in it.

In turn, the Minister of Transport, Amer Al-Marani, indicated the keenness and interest of the Ministry of Transport to provide all aspects of support to the authority and its sectors, especially meteorology, to keep pace with international developments in this field, thus enhancing the development of meteorological services.

He said, “The global developments in the field of technology for early predictions of climate and terrain that have been invented, preserve people’s lives and at the same time help in economic development and various agricultural crops.”

Minister Al-Marani stressed that the authority, represented by the meteorological sector, works with all its cadres to inform the citizen about climatic changes through weather bulletins and warnings broadcast in various media outlets.

Minister Al-Marani pointed to the importance of training and qualifying Yemeni cadres with important specializations that fall within the framework of meteorology and harnessing them in the service of the Yemeni people.

In the event, attended by the Minister of Fisheries and Member of Parliament Abdel Bari Daghish, the Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation Authority and Meteorology, Raed Jabal, explained that Yemen celebrates the World Meteorological Day with the rest of the world, as it is a member of the World Meteorological Organization.

He pointed out that the authority, represented by the meteorological sector, provides its meteorological services according to scientific and accurate monitoring through monitoring stations in various governorates.

Jabal confirmed that the authority, in its plans, pays great attention to the meteorological sector and works to promote, develop and modernize the sector professionally and technically to keep pace with the modern and globally applicable developments.

For his part, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Meteorological Sector at the Authority, Eng. Muhammad Saeed Humaid, reviewed the sector’s role in providing services in all fields, most notably the economic field.

And he indicated that the celebration of the World Meteorological Day has significance in terms of keeping pace with development, modernization and competition in providing the best meteorological services to avoid and reduce accidents caused by climatic changes, terrain, floods and natural disasters.

“The meteorological sector was affected by the aggression’s raids, which targeted meteorological stations distributed on land, sea and air,” he said, noting the efforts of the Ministry of Transport and the Public Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology in paying attention to the meteorological sector and providing it with material and moral support.

Engineer Hamid explained that the meteorological sector was able to install 18 automatic stations from 2014 until this year, distributed over the various governorates.

While the head of the Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems Authority at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Khaled Khanbari, indicated that the Meteorological Authority is one of the important areas of the authority, as it provides important information to the meteorological sector.

The event was attended by representatives and advisers of the Ministry of Transport, assistant undersecretaries and directors of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority and its various sectors, two films about the occasion and an indicative about rain and dust.

At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were distributed to outstanding workers in the meteorological sector
