Discussing coordination between Red Sea Ports Corporation & WFP office in Hodeida

The chief executive officer of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, Mohammed Ishaq, discussed with representatives of the World Food Program office in Hodeida province, Abdul Salam Al-Shaws, Omar Hassan, and Ibrahim Ibrahim, aspects of coordination between the Corporation and the Program Office to facilitate the implementation of its interventions.

The meeting reviewed the facilities provided by the corporation’s ports to the humanitarian aid ships of the program.

Ishaq pointed out that nearly 90 percent of the aid enters Yemen through the port and is being distributed under UN supervision to all Yemeni regions.

He expressed his hope that the UN would play an active role in lifting the blockade on the corporation’s ports, pointing to the catastrophic repercussions of the continuation of the blockade and the international community’s disregard for the tragedy of the Yemeni people and their daily suffering for more than eight years.

Ishaq also affirmed the Foundation’s readiness to provide all facilities for the work of the program and all United Nations organizations, enabling them to carry out their various activities smoothly and easily.

While the WFP representatives appreciated the Foundation’s efforts and the facilities it provides to the program to deliver aid to the targeted families under the current circumstances.
