A meeting to discuss the status of Hodeida port and the difficulties it faces under the aggression and siege

 

A meeting was discussed at the headquarters of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation in the port of Hodeida , Tuesday 1-2-2022 AD, which included the Vice-Chairman of the General Staff – Head of the National Redeployment Team in Hodeida Major General Ali Hammoud Al-Mushki and the CEO of the Corporation, Captain Muhammad Abu Bakr Ishaq and the new head of the United Nations mission To support the Hodeida agreement, General Michael Perry, the situation of the port of Hodeida and the difficulties it faces under the aggression and siege.

The meeting, in the presence of a member of the National Redeployment Team, Major General Muhammad Ali Al-Qadri, Brigadier Mansour Al-Saadi, Executive Vice President of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Engineer Yahya Abbas Sharaf El-Din, and members of the Redeployment Committee, reviewed the difficulties that hinder the work of the Corporation and its affiliated ports, and the services it provides in the field of maritime navigation and the humanitarian field for the people. Yemeni.

The meeting touched on the commitments and pledges of international organizations to develop Hodeida port, repair equipment and devices destroyed by the aggression, and maintain port facilities.

In the meeting, the Deputy Chief of Staff pointed to the importance of the role of the Red Sea Ports Corporation in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people through the services and facilities it provides to ships entering the port.

Major General Al-Mushki stressed that Yemen, under its revolutionary and political leadership, does not rely on Security Council resolutions, as it is subject to the political dictates of the countries of the coalition of aggression.

He explained that the forces of aggression are not concerned with Yemen’s interest as much as their interests in plundering its wealth and capabilities.. He pointed out that the Yemeni people are disobedient to the conspiracies that lie in wait in the country.

He also affirmed the adherence of the Yemeni people to their right to defend the land and to gain their full freedom and independence, and to reject American arrogance.

He pointed out that persistence in the continuation of the aggression and siege will not bring the aggressors except with more loss, and that no matter how much their escalation is, it will be faced with an escalation.

He stated that the bet of the aggression countries on the open American support is a failure, and unless they achieve any gain during the seven years of the aggression, they will not achieve any achievement in their new escalation.

And he indicated that the Yemeni people will not falter in their legitimate right to self-defense, and that they will continue to fight the battle of national liberation until the aggressors are defeated.

He warned that submitting the aggression countries to the American administration and surrendering to its desires would cost them a lot and would have serious consequences.

He expressed the hope of the national team of the mission to fulfill its previous commitments in rehabilitating service facilities in Hodeida Governorate, including the rehabilitation of Hodeida ports.

The head of the national redeployment team expressed the readiness of the national team to provide support and facilities to the redeployment mission in Hodeida, which would make their missions successful and implement its programmes.

The President of the Corporation welcomed the new head of the Hodeida Agreement Support Team Mission, Major General Beary, and his visit to the port of Hodeida.

He gave an explanation of the progress of work in the ports of the Corporation and the difficulties it faces, especially the port of Hodeida, the main artery for Yemenis.. He reviewed the extent of the damage caused to the port and its equipment, infrastructure and superstructures.

Captain Ishaq touched on the facilities provided to the ships of the United Nations and other international humanitarian organizations and other services in order to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

He stressed the need to exert more efforts to continue the work of the port and to provide navigational services and facilities for ships that reach the port’s draft.

He pointed out that the Red Sea Ports Corporation is working with impartiality and professionalism with qualified technical and professional cadres.

Noting that the corporation’s ports operate in accordance with international conditions and standards for maritime navigation, providing all facilities for ships visiting its ports, according to the available capabilities.

He called on the UN mission to oblige the other party to implement its previous commitments, including the transfer of the inspection team “UNFIM” from Djibouti to the ports of Hodeida.

He also demanded that it play its humanitarian and moral role to take a firm decision to prevent maritime piracy and the detention of oil and food ships, given that the Stockholm Agreement was primarily humanitarian.

In turn, the head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement expressed his gratitude for providing this opportunity and for learning about the conditions of Hodeida ports and for being aware of their needs.

Irish General Perry stressed the importance of everyone’s cooperation to achieve the desired goals of the presence of the United Nations Redeployment Coordination Mission in Hodeida.

He pointed out that the mission will brief the Security Council on the nature of the situation in Hodeida Governorate and the port on February 16 of this year.

In addition, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff – the head of the national redeployment team, the CEO of the Corporation and the new head of the United Nations Mission to support the Hodeida Agreement  briefed on a number of facilities in the port of Hodeida.
