Deputy Minister of Transport visits the meteorological sector

Deputy Minister of Transport Mohammed Al-Hashemi visited the meteorological sector in the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister met with the leadership and general managers of the sector and discussed with them all procedures related to the workflow and the level of performance, as well as the difficulties and obstacles they face in their work.

Al-Hashemi stressed the need and importance of working with high professionalism and in a team spirit in order to improve performance, noting the ministry’s leadership’s interest in issuing the Yemeni meteorological law, as well as training and qualifying the sector’s cadres to ensure the development and development of capabilities in the field of meteorology, stressing the importance of internal training and benefiting as much as possible from the Yemeni trainers who They are no less efficient than their counterparts in other countries.

In turn, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Meteorological Sector, Mohammed Saeed Hamid, valued the visit of the Deputy Minister and clarified the role played by the sector in various areas of life through monitoring and forecasting the weather around the clock, and the accompanying violent weather phenomena that cause catastrophes in lives and property, which the sector operates through the National Center Meteorology warning and early warning.

Undersecretary Hamid stressed the strengthening of the sector’s relations with local partners from the relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Health, Civil Defense, Water and Environment, Remote Sensing Center, Geographic Information Systems, Water and Environment Center at Sana’a University and other partners to work with them in the future with the aim of establishing an early warning system in the country.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Deputy Minister of Transport pointed to the importance of the services of the meteorological sector in economic development and encouraging investment in the agricultural, commercial and other fields to push the wheel of the national economy for the better.
