A meeting chaired by the Minister of Transport to discuss the mechanism of transporting raw materials for medicines from their global sources.

Today, a meeting chaired by the caretaker Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, discussed cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the General Union of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in facilitating the transportation of products and raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry.

The meeting, which included the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemen Airlines, Khalil Jahaf, the Executive Director of Ground Services at Yemen Airlines, Noman Al-Masni, and the Secretary-General of the Pharmaceutical Producers Union, Amin Khamis, reviewed the mechanism of transporting raw materials for medicines from their global sources.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Durra stressed the keenness of the Ministry and its affiliated bodies and institutions to cooperate with the Union in a way that serves the public interest.
He pointed out the importance of overcoming difficulties and giving priority to transporting products, raw materials, and drug production inputs with ease and continuity due to their importance in achieving pharmaceutical security, and localizing pharmaceutical industries in implementation of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council.

Al-Durra stated that medicines are linked to the lives of citizens and are of special importance to the Ministry of Transport by facilitating procedures, whether through sea or air transport, which contributes to encouraging investment in this field.

In turn, Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Producers Union, Dr. Nabil Atef, touched on the mechanism of transporting raw materials from their global sources, pointing out that the pharmaceutical industry is one of the most important industries that contribute to serving the country.

Meanwhile, Jahaf expressed the readiness of Yemen Airways to transport raw materials within air freight and to overcome any difficulties in doing so.
