Discussing the draft transport sector strategy in accordance with the national vision

A meeting chaired by the Minister of Transport, Abd al-Wahab Yahya Al-Durra, discussed the draft institutional strategy for the transport sector emanating from the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.
The meeting, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, and members of the concerned committee, reviewed the draft strategy in accordance with the directives and guidelines of the national vision and its implementation mechanism.
The meeting reviewed the initial version of the strategy presented by the Technical Committee, and the projects and programs it contains that contribute to the development and modernization of the land, sea and air transport sector during the next stage.
During the meeting, the Minister of Transport stressed the need to develop the transport sector in all its forms, saying: “The best plans and policies must be developed and implemented, legislation updated, and performance raised in order to achieve competition at the local and international levels and to provide the best services to the beneficiaries.”
He pointed out that the vision of the Ministry of Transport aims to build an integrated, safe, competitive and economic transport sector that is characterized by flexibility, efficiency, administrative and technical development, preserves the environment and promotes economic development and social cohesion.
Minister Al-Durra directed the committee to formulate strategic values ​​and objectives in accordance with the concepts and methodologies used in preparing draft strategies that would improve the level of the various transport sectors.
