Its manager was found hanged .. A Korean company stopped work on the Al-Faw port project in Basra

The South Korean company Daewoo decided to stop work on the Faw Port project, after the body of its manager was found hanged.

 

An informed source told the Rudaw Media Network that the company decided  to stop work on the large Faw port project, after the body of its manager was found hanged.

 

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Basra called for an investigation to be opened to find out the causes of the death of the director of the Korean company operating in the large port of Faw, in Basra Governorate.

 

The commission said in a statement that Rudaw Media Network received a copy of: “As it regrets the death of the director of the company for the construction project of the great Al-Faw port today, he is following up the investigations of the accident with the Basra Provincial Police Directorate and the head of the Al-Faw district office.”

 

The director of the Korean company, operating in the Faw Grand Port, Park, committed suicide by hanging, and until now the causes of the accident are unknown.

 

On April 5, 2010, the cornerstone of the Faw Grand Port project was laid.

 

On Tuesday, the Minister of Transport, Nasser Al-Shibli, announced the agreement on the final version of the Al-Faw port contract.

 

In a statement, which Rudaw Media Network received a copy of, the Ministry of Transport said that Minister of Transport Nasser Hussein Al-Shibli announced the agreement on the final version of the Faw port contract with the Korean company implementing the project.

 

The cost of the project was estimated at $ 4.6 billion, and it was supposed to be completed within four or five years, but after 10 years of laying the foundation stone, the breakwater is the only thing that has been completed
