Meeting at Hodeidah port discusses mechanism for mitigating entry, exit of cargo trucks

A meeting held in the port of Hodeidah on Tuesday, headed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation Marine Eng. Yasser Ahmed, discussed the mechanism for easing the entry and exit of cargo trucks for the investment sector to and from the port.

The meeting reviewed the level of daily entry and exit of trucks and the need to reduce pressure and congestion.

It touched on appropriate alternatives to enhance investor services and the necessary needs for the process of opening a new gate for the entry and exit of locomotives to and from Hodeida port to ease congestion in the eastern gate leading to the port and maintain the infrastructure.

Aspects related to increasing ship unloading rates and creating sufficient spaces for goods arriving at Hodeidah port were also discussed, which would contribute to providing greater capacity in the Red Sea Corporation’s ports.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation Marine Eng. Yasser Ahmed stressed the importance of concerted efforts by everyone to improve the navigational and commercial services of the Red Sea ports, in order to achieve the desired vision of developing performance and improving Hodeida Port services in line with the requirements of the next stage.

The meeting was enriched with a number of recommendations related to enhancing the smooth and safe entry of Trailers and the speed of goods handling and unloading, which contributes to the speedy transfer of materials and commercial goods without delay as they leave the port.
