SAS will cut 20% of its employees’ salaries to cope with the fallout from Corona

Oslo: A Norwegian newspaper revealed that the Scandinavian airline SAS decided to deduct 20 percent of the salaries of its managers, as a result of the implications of the spread of the Coruna virus on the company’s business with the suspension of a number of destinations.

The Norwegian newspaper, Dagens Naeringsliv, said the administration had reduced wages by 20 percent while maintaining the number of working hours and that it would do the same with the rest of the company’s employees.

SAS will invite the trade union administration to discuss the possibility for all SAS employees to reduce working hours by 20 percent and the corresponding three-month wage cuts as a result of the current market situation, Karina Malgren Hinder, SAS chief of staff wrote in an internal email.
